Head North -- Travels in Canada and Alaska

This was a two month plus long motorhome trip, starting at home in Virginia and ending up in Vancouver, British Columbia after a huge loop through Alberta, the Yukon and Alaska.

My journey started back on the East Coast and was, initially, not much more than the Interstate and a lot of rain (plus one tornado!) Eventually I caught up with some good weather in North Dakota. The first outing of the trip was to Fort Lincoln, headquarters of Colonel George Custer and the 7th Cavalry. This is where they rode from in May of 1876. A month later they were all dead after meeting their fate at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Mrs Custer and family (their house at the Fort is shown below) quickly departed along with many other grieving widows.
